NATO reporting name: Felon
Letter “Ε” export version

The Su-57E – export version of the Su-57 felon (first appeared at the MAKS-2019 international exhibition). It is single-seat, twin-engine 5th generation strike fighter, incorporating stealth technology, the ability to fly supersonic without the use of afterburner, and features steerable thrust nozzle that help increase maneuverability in combination with an advanced electronic flight control system.

The Su-57E is power plant by two Al-41F1 (izdeliye 30) afterburning turbofans, with maximum thrust, using afterburner at 15.000 kgf each and without the use of afterburner at 8.800 or 9.500 kgf each.

The Su-57E's main electronic sensor is the Active Electronically Scanned Array fire control radar, possible developments of NIIP (Tikhomirov), which has been reported to have a tracking range estimated at 400+ km and the ability to track up to 30 targets and hit 8 of them simultaneously.

All weapons are carried in two large weapons bays inside the fuselage and two missiles in two sidemounted weapons bays.

The aircraft's fixed armament consists of the modernized 30 mm single-barrel cannon, 9A1-4071K (version of the Gsh-301), which is installed in the wing extension (LERX) on the right side. The internal armament compartments can carry 8 or 10 air-to-air missiles depending on the mission. In addition to internal weapons bays, the aircraft can easily carry most of the weapons in the Russian arsenal, on a total of 6 external load suspension points.

Su-57E Felon is the only 5th generation strike fighter capable of carrying large new generation airto-surface missiles that incorporate stealth technology. It remains unknown what equipment and armament the export version will be equipped with.

Export:

During the Zhuhai exhibition in China (Airshow China 2024), Algeria signed a contract with Rosoboronexport (Russia) for the supply of 12 or 14 aircraft (editor's note, possible 12 singleseaters and two two-seaters). According to Algerian media, the first 6 fighters will be delivered in 2025 and another six in 2026.
