An-2 (ΝΑΤΟ codename – Colt). It's alight multiple role airplane which carries the piston engine type Ash-62IR, of a 1.000 h.p. First flew on August 31, 1947. It is still being manufactured in Poland and China. This biplane can be found in 26 countries in the world. The An-2 was the largest single engine biplane in the world, until the version An-3. It holds the Guinness record as the longest production airplane in the world, more than 60 years.

Until 2012, there were about 2.271 units still in service all over the world, from which about 1.580 in Russia (although about 322 are fit to fly). The Ukrainian air force has 135 units, from which 54 can be used.

An-2 is still in service in countries like Kazakhstan (290), Uzbekistan (143), Turkmenistan (89), Belarus (82), Azerbaijan (63), Kirghistan (30), Moldavia (13) and Armenia (4).
