The DB-3T, developed in 1938 on the basis of the DB-3 bomber, was designed as a naval torpedo bomber. It could carry one 45-36AN torpedo for low-altitude release, one 45-36AV torpedo for high-altitude release, or one AMG-1 naval mine. A total of 239 aircraft were built, including 199 converted from standard DB-3 bombers.
