In numbers Through the lens Video
In 1954, the first modified Mi-4L firefighting helicopter was built. With minimal structural modifications, they equipped it with two water tanks (internal) with a total capacity of 500 ltr., installed a special water-gun-hose. Tanks were filled from airports and lakes during its hovering.
In 1955 the water-gun system was removed due to ineffectiveness, thus making the helicopter only for the transport of forest firefighters.
