Often referred to as: "95-MS", "V-MS"
A subsonic cruise missile-armed strategic bomber powered by four NK-12MP 15.000-hp turboprops.
The Tu-95 strategic bomber prototype first took to the air on 12 November, 1952, while the Tu-95MS missile carrier made its maiden flight in September 1979.
The Tu-95MS series production had been performed at the Aviakor plant (Samara) during 1983-1992 with about 90 aircraft having been built. Presently, the Tu-95MS make up the backbone of the Russian Air Force strategic component.

| The version Tu-95 MS-6 was modified to carry missiles internally and 4 more missiles on external carriers (31 aircrafts were made)and cannot be upgraded to MSM level. |

| The Tu-95MS-16 with increased portability of missiles on external carriers up to 10 Χ-55 (Kh-55) missiles, (with the “Sprut” missile system), and also is equipped with the new Gsh-23L gun. The cockpit was redesigned to provide for better visibility to the crew. (overall 57 aircrafts were made). |
