Subsonic long-range bomber carrier of cruise missiles of the K-10S "Kometa-10" type, developed on the basis of the Tu-16 with a modernized airframe for the RD16-15 engines (the engine was a modification of the RD-3M with an increase in thrust up to 11.300 kgf) with an increased flight range . In total, three Tu-16 aircraft were converted to the level of Tu-16K. The tests were successful, but did not go into production.
