NATO reporting name: Crusty-B
Tu-134UBL it was developed on the basis of the Tu-134 passenger jet in early 1990s to train pilots and navigators from Tu- 160, Tu-22M3 and Tu-95MS strategic nuclear-capable bombers. Around 90 (109) such aircraft were produced between 1981 and 1984. The Tu-134UBL entered service the Soviet Air Forces in 1982.

Modifications:
Tu-134UBK naval version on the basis of the Tu-134UBL. Only one was built.

Tu-134 UBL “17” «ROSSIYA» in the old color.
In 1990, several Tu-134UBL where modifications and brought to the level of Tu-134UBK-M (especially for training pilots for naval aviation).

Tu-134UBL “17 red”, s/n7080, 2005. Equipped with RBP armament control system and bomb transfer to external – hardpoints.
In the early 1990s some Tu-134UBLs were modified to Tu-134UB-KMs for the training of naval strike aircraft crews.
