NATO reporting name:  Flanker

Is used for flight tests and refining of the modified engines developed by MMPP "Salut".

Application:

- flight test of the engines, power plants and their systems within the whole flight envelope of the Su-27
- determination of the aircraft flight performance

Main features:

- flying testbed is fitted out the AL-31F M1 vectoring-thrust engines
- flying testbed carries the onboard measuring system capable of realtime data acquisition
