NATO reporting name: Fitter H
Often referred to as: S-52, Su-19

Based on the revised airframe of the Su-17UM, but with an avionics bay and an additional fuel tank in place of the rear cockpit, increasing the internal fuel.


Su-22M (S-52K):  Su-22 M equipped with missile Kh-28 and pods targeting "Metel-A".
Su-22M (S-52K):  Su-22 M equipped with missile Kh-28 and pods targeting "Metel-A".

 

The first flight of the prototype took place in 1976. During the period 1976 to 1981 were built more than 2.820 aircraft of all versions.

 

Modifications:
Su-17M3-58-27: Flying laboratory for testing Kh-27PS and Kh-58U missiles.
Su-17M3P (S-52P): Modified version, capable of carrying Kh-27PS, Kh-58 anti-radar missiles, with "V'uga-17" targeting equipment. A number of Su-17M3 aircraft were modified to the level of the Su-17M3P.
Su-17M3P: Reconnaissance aircraft version with based on the Su-17M3.
