NATO reporting name: Foxhound
The MiG-31BM is a multirole combat aircraft derived from the MiG-31B and featuring an expanded air-to-air and air-to-surface PGM weapons suite, a revamped avionics suite including new computers, the upgraded Zaslon radar, a multifunctional display-based up-to-date cockpit management system, an improved navigation suite, etc.

Zaslon-M radar for electronic scanning with the capability of simultaneous tracking of up to 24 targets while on the mode of searching. The Zaslon-M radar with an antenna diameter of 1.1 m provides capabilities such as: Detection range 320 km, Number of detected and tracked targets 24 and Number of simultaneous attacks against targets 8.
The greatest detection range for a target with an RCS=20m2 is 400 km, for an RSC=5m2 it is 282km.
