AWACS (long-range radar detection and control) aircraft with a new generation radar developed by the "Vega" radio engineering concern with four PS-90A-76 turbofan engines with a thrust of 14,500 kgf each. Developed on the basis of the Il-76MD-90A (Il-476) military transport aircraft. The first flight took place on March 18, 2012.
The radar of the A-100 aviation complex has the ability to detect and track up to 300 targets (ground and sea) at a distance of up to 500-600 km, and air targets up to 1000 km.
Il-476 is a deeply modernized version of the Il-76MD military transport aircraft, with new PS-90 engines, full digital cockpit, several system improvements, structurally redesigned, mainly the wing which is technologically analogous to the Il-96.
We are expecting to receive the A-100 AWACS on the Ilyushin Il-476 platform powered by the PS-90 engine for extended flight range.
