Aircraft command and measurement point based on the Il-76MD with the "Shmel" RTK (a rotating RF-2 module with a diameter of about 11 m and a height of 1.5 m) and four D-30KP turbofan engines with a thrust of 12.000 kgf each.

Aircraft command and measurement point based on the Il-76MD with the "Shmel" complex (a rotating RF-2 module with a diameter of about 11 m and a height of 1.5 m) and four D-30KP turbofan engines with a thrust of 12.000 kgf each. The first flight took place in 1986. A total of 5 units were produced, of which 3 were decommissioned.

The "Shmel" signals intelligence complex has a tracking range of objects and ranges from 400 km for low-altitude objects and up to 2-3 thousand km for high-flying ones, and with group use of the "SKIP" - more than 10.000 km.
