In March 2009, FYROM signed a $ 10 million contract to acquire 3 AT-802A Fire Boss aircraft with the Spanish Iar Tractor Europe SL.

Single-seat, single-engine amphibious firefighting aircraft, deriving from the AT-800 and equipped with a P&W PT6A-67AG engine, with a total power of 1.295 hp., upgraded equipment and increased tank capacity to carry a payload of up to 3.104 lt of water or retardant fluid. The Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67AG turbo prop engine is equipped with five-blade Hartzell HC-B5HP-3F/Μ11276ΝS spanning at 2,99 m diameter. It has a maximum take-off weight of 7.260 kg, maximum speed 354 km/h, economic speed 193 - 291 km/h and a range of (with economic speed) 1.287 km. Its maiden flight was on July 6, 1992.

On November 8, 2009, FYROM receives the first two AT-802A Fire Boss amphibious firefighting aircraft.
