In numbers  Through the lens  Video

Long range air-to-air missile developed by European companies such as Saab Bofors Dynamics, Bayern-Chemie Protac, Inmize, TDW, LiteF GmbH.

The rocket is made according to the normal aerodynamic scheme and is distinguished by the presence of two asymmetric engine air intakes (ramjet) installed in the lower part of the rocket body.

To control and stabilize the rocket, a cruciform tail unit was installed. The power plant is combined, it consists of a marching ramjet engine with modulo-controlled thrust and a starting accelerator, which are located in a single housing. Meteor can hit a target at a distance of more than 100 km and reach speeds up to M 4,5.

Permissible target overload range up to 11 g.

Principle features:

- Active radar seeker to engage air targets autonomously in all weather, day or night, and in dense Electronic Warfare (EW) environments.

- Data link update capability in-flight.

- Fully integrated and operational on Gripen.

- Compatible with other advanced European fighter aircraft.

- Throttle Ducted Ramjet (TDR) propulsion system ensuring a range in excess of 100 km at missile speed's in excess of Mach 4.

- Equipped with both proximity radar and impact fuses and a blast fragmentation warhead detonated at the optimum point, maximizing lethality against all air targets.

- Autonomous terminal guidance system using advanced navigation systems.
