The Two-seat, single-engine helicopter, designed and built according to a single-rotor helicopter, with a single-bladed main rotor and a tail rotor. The helicopter was developed on the basis of Bell-47G-B. The Bell OH-3S helicopter first flew in 1948. In 1970 to 1972 the first batch of four Bell OH-13S helicopters entered the service of the Greek armaments. After a long service as a training helicopter, been withdrawn from service in 2005.
