It's an anti-aircraft gun developed for the German Air Forces in 1968, with the capability to attack of low flying targets or against ground targets.
After the approval of the GAF in December of 1969, the gun went to mass production in 1972.
Besides Germany, it was exported to other countries like Argentina (was even used during the Falkland war), Greece, Portugal, Turkey, Indonesia and Pakistan.
