The ASRAD Hellas system (Advanced Shοrt Range Air-Defence System), although based on the export version of LeFIaSys, was especially modified for the needs of the Greek Army and to provide protection for Command centers, airports and in, combination with other systems, against air-targets flying at low altitudes.
The system consists of a quadruple launcher on a M998 Hummer vehicle and carries the FIM-92 Stinger missiles (same as the hand held launchers). The whole system is manned by two persons, the quadruple launcher with 4 missiles and four more in special containers ready for reload. For the rapid deployment of the system there is the possibility of air transport on an external or with on hook of a CH-47DG/SD helicopter. The quadruple launcher can rotate 360o and elevate from -10o up to 70o, with fire range 5.500 m, reliability 95% and capacity 4 missiles.
The system's electronic equipment consists of sensors, a FLIR unit with the Orhelios system, a TV camera, a laser distance meter (LRF), an auto-search camera, an inertial navigation system, a GP‘S, a system of optical target indicator, a malfunction diagnostics and locating system, a central computer and communications system.
