The SJ-100 is a narrow-body jet airliner designed for regional airline operations. It is the first aircraft of this class developed in Russia after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Although it maintains a similar external configuration to the Sukhoi Superjet 100, the SJ-100 incorporates extensive technological differences, retaining only the basic industrial design.
The aircraft features systems and subsystems that are entirely domestically sourced, including the PD-8 engines, which are the product of Russian design and development.

The aircraft has a maximum seating capacity of 103 passengers and is intended for medium-haul operations, primarily on domestic routes within the Russian Federation.
The prototype aircraft, bearing construction number 97012, completed its maiden flight on 17 March 2025. The test flight lasted 40 minutes, during which the aircraft achieved a speed of 500 km/h at an operational altitude of 3.000 m.
According to the manufacturer, Rostec, the flight test and certification program is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.
