Air system of early warning

T his time the proposal of Tupolev concerned a jet plane with the four jet engines under the wings. Even if the drawing reminds enough the American AWACS E-3A.

This program did not receive development for the reason that they should design a new plane while requirements of VVS concerned immediately for an air system.

The solution was given with the integration of Il-76 in 1971 (in that later was installed the flying radar of type "Shmel").
