The Su-27KUB is a supersonic ship-borne twin-seater- a combat trainer being a derivative of the Su-33 (Su-27K) ship-borne single-seat fighter. 

The aircraft features a side-by-side crew seating arrangement, expanded wing and empennage as well as a number of other improvements. 

The first Su-27KUB prototype made its maiden flight on 29 April, 1999. The aircraft is in production at the KnAAPO.
