NATO reporting name: Fencer

Two-seat supersonic front-line bomber with a variable-sweep wing, with two AL-21F-3 engines with a thrust of 11.200 kgf each, with Tiger sighting and navigation system and a wide range of unguided and guided weapons air-to-surface.

Created on the basis of the Su-24 aircraft with system PNS Puma (Onboard digital armament and navigation system), which was mass-produced in 1971-1983. The Su-24 prototype with a variable-sweep wing made its first flight on January 17, 1970, the Su-24M prototype on June 29, 1977. Su-24M aircraft were mass-produced at the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant. V.P. Chkalov in 1979-1993. In total, about 1.400 Su-24 aircraft of all modifications were built.
