Twin-engine, turbojet, patrol aircraft, short takeoff and landing (STOL), with two D-36 turbojet engines with a thrust of 6424 kgf each (takeoff mode). The first flight took place in 1990.

The armament of the aircraft consists of a suspended pod UPK-23-250 with a double-barreled gun GSh-23 (on the starboard side, near the landing gear fairing), 100 kg bombs and 64 S-5 unguided rockets in two blocks UB-32M, on two underwing pylons, it is also possible to transport life rafts, buoys, transport 22 paratroopers, up to 16 wounded on a stretcher with an accompanying medical worker, and ammunition, etc. with a total weight of up to 5.000 kg.
