An-24 (An-24RV) is a multi-purpose, transport-passenger, with turboprops, aircraft designed to carry passengers, baggage, mail and cargo on medium-haul range airlines. The aircraft is designed to carry up to 48 passengers. The power plant consists of two turboprop engines (TVD) AI-24A of the 2nd series (AI-24IT) with a take-off power of 2550 hp each, with four-bladed feathered propellers AV-72 or (AV-72T) with a diameter of 3.9 m. On the An-24RV aircraft, one additional turbojet engine RU-19A-300 with a thrust of 800 kgf is installed.

The aircraft fuel is placed in four soft tanks in the center section and in two integral fuel tanks in the middle part of the wing, with a total capacity of 4850 kg. 
The first flight took place on October 20, 1959. A total of 1367 units were produced.
