The modified engine was created in 1969 on the basis of D-30 increased thrust of 6.800 kgf (6.930  kgf), with a reverse thrust. In 1970 the engine is put into series and operated on aircraft such as Tu-134A, Tu-134B, Tu-134UBL, Tu-134Sh and other aircraft.
