More than 6300 engines were produced (all modifications of AI-25 series 1,2 and 2E)
Production: since 1967
Turbofan engine with three-stage low-pressure axial compressor, 8-stage high-pressure compressor, annular combustion chamber, single-stage high-pressure turbine, two-stage low-pressure turbine and non-adjustable exhaust nozzle.
All these design solutions led to a low engine weight, a small specific fuel consumption and a simple in design and production. The AI-25 was created in 1965 for a jet aircraft of local Yak-40 air lines.
In addition, the engine was installed on a reactive agricultural (jet aircraft) Polish-made M-15 aircraft (the aircraft was withdrawn from service back in the 80s), as well as on the aircraft as an American-made Comp Air Jet.
