The PzH 2000GR self-propelled howitzer is of German design and origin, developed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann in 1998. It is equipped with an L52 155 mm gun, with a barrel length of 52 calibers (8.0 meters). The gun features a multi-slot muzzle brake, a bore evacuator, and ballistic protection, including a protective shield.
Gun aiming is achieved through a combined hydraulic and electrical system. The howitzer is fitted with an automatic loading system, enabling a maximum rate of fire of up to 10 rounds per minute.

The crew consists of five members: the commander, driver, gunner, and two loaders.
It is considered one of the most advanced and capable self-propelled howitzers in service today. In addition to Germany, it has been exported to countries such as Greece, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Qatar, and Croatia, and has also been supplied to Ukraine.

In 2004, the Hellenic Army received 24 PzH 2000GR self-propelled howitzers (where “GR” denotes Greece), along with support systems including 16 ammunition resupply vehicles, 4 ammunition handling vehicles, training simulators, and other auxiliary support equipment.
All howitzers were assigned to the 156th and 163rd Self-Propelled Medium Artillery Battalions, tasked with providing general support to the 12th and 16th Mechanized Infantry Divisions (12 PzH 2000GR per battalion).
