Essentially it is a modernized version of the tracked vehicle of the A/A system Buk-M2. The system carries double canisters in series (3 x 2). The radar is analogous to that of Buk-M2.

All missiles are carried in canisters. This arrangement greatly facilitates the operation of the system. The canisters are cylindrical shaped, made of metal or synthetic materials.

The transfer of missile canisters provides protection to missiles from the external environment, simplifies transport and maintenance of missiles and reduces the exhaust gases from the propulsion system to the atmosphere during launching. The use of canisters has reduced the weight of the projectile, while increasing their reliability and readiness, simplified procedures of reloading projectiles and preparation for launch.
