The Gazetchik-E equipment is intended to protect friendly radars against antiradar missiles (ARM) by a momentary interruption of their emissions on command from a stand-alone ARM detector, by using distraction devices and by jamming ARMs lilted with IR, TV and radar homig heads.

The Gazetchik equipment comprises the following components:
- stand-alone detector
- distraction devices using the frequency band of the radar to be protected
- aerosol and chaff dispensers
- interface with radars under protection.

The protection equipment is available in several versions, operates in an automatic mode and is supplied with power from the protected radar.
