The multi-position radar system forms a radar fence of an overall extension of up to 500 km and detects any airborne objects.

CAPABILITIES

- automatic detection and measurement of coordinates and trajectory parameters of airborne targets including small-sized low-flying aircraft, cruise missiles and Stealth targets
- target class recognition
- radar data output to air defence operations centres for enhanced readiness of the forces and facilities.

The Barrier-E multiple-link radar system extends the radar field of an air defence complex to low and very low altitudes by building up 'radarfences'.

THE FORWARD-SCATTERING RADAR METHOD OFFERS A NUMBER OF ADVANTAGES

- target 'visibility' increases by a factor of 103-104 as compared with conventional radars
- detection performance is not degraded by antiradar coating on the target
- detection of targets that are not easily if at all detectable by conventional radars, such as:

Light aircraft and hang gliders / Cruise missiles;stealth aircraft
Remotely controlled air vehicles / low-altitude fighters.

- low radiated power
- high detection probability for small targets
- low false alarm rate
