C-27J Spartan Military Aviation Capacity Aircraft Developed by the LMATTS Consortium (Lockheed Martin Alenia Tactical Transport Systems) based on the G222 / C-27 Spartan.
The deployment program took place in the mid-1990s, although it was based on the mechanical parts of the G222, many of which were improved to accommodate the new ROLLS-ROYCE AE 2100D2 propulsion system, as well as up-to-date electronic equipment, complete with modern cockpit analogue to the C-130J Hercules II. Its first flight took place in September 1999.

The aircraft has a full glass cockpit and is equipped with five color LCDs to reduce crew workload.

The C-27J cockpit is fully compatible with AN / AVS-9 third generation night vision systems and HUD (optional).
Each pilot is provided with a Flight Management System and throw of cargo by inserting the required coordinates of the area while being provided by a flight management unit.
Electronic equipment includes dual digital automatic pilot and APN 241 low power meteorological radar capable of mapping, weather detection and Wind Shear.
Internal configuration:
For heavy cargo transportation the aircraft has reinforced flooring. The landing system can adjust the height of the spindle to facilitate unloading of the airplane. The maximum payload is 11.500 kg.

On a typical mission the aircraft can carry equipment as follows:
2xHMMWV vehicles. 1xPanhard AML-90. 2xPanhard M3. 3xHowitzer cannons of 105 mm.
To drop the cargo the aircraft, can transport up to 3xΗCU-6/E and 1xHCU-12/E or 7xHCU-12/E or 12xA22 CDS.
1 Bell 206 helicopter with rotors, main rotor mast and vertical tail fin in removed. Up to 3 AE2100 engines or two F-16, Mirage 2000 and C-130 Hercules engines.
The aircraft carries up to 46 soldiers or 36 paratroopers in missions. In freight forwarding missions it can transport 36 stretchers (injured) including 6 nurses.
It takes about 15 minutes to perform a freight forwarding mission, and within 35 minutes of its destination it can carry out a throw loads.

The Spartan is powered by two Rolls-Royce AE 2100 D2 motors with a maximum power of 3.460 kW (4.640 h.p.) each in take-off with outdoor ambient temperatures of up to 39,4o C.
In addition to the two engines, the aircraft also has a backup power unit that is capable of operating the engines in both air and ground.
