It is a single-engine, low-wing, two-seat, training aircraft with fixed tricycle landing gear. The aircraft was developed in 2009 by the Italian "Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam".
In October 11, 2018 Hellenic Air Force acquired the first aircraft for the initial training of pilots. The aircraft will join the 360th Squadron of Basic Training "Thalis".
On July 5, 2018, the procurement of 12 P2002JF training aircraft was signed. On Wednesday, June 12, 2019 delivery was completed for the 12 new training aircraft, TECNAM P2002JF, to the Hellenic Air Force. The P2002JF will gradually replace the available T-41D of the HAF.
