The hypersonic rocket aviation complex developed on the basis of the 9M723 "Iskander-M" and is designed to effectively destroy ships as aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers and the frigate as well as on stationary objects.

The Kh-47M2 missile is transported by modified aircraft: the MiG-31 fighter and interceptor, the Tu-22M3M strategic bomber as well as the fifth generation Su-57 fighter.
