The first prototype of training multiple role fighter Su-25UBM was completed in 2007, developed by Aviation factory Ulan-Ude and was first presented at MAKS-2007, where itcaused increased interest from representatives of the Ministry of Defence and foreign countries.
The modernized version of Su-25UBM was developed on the basis of the Su-25UB (Training - near support).
The Su-25UBM is equipped with new radar type Phazatron NII Kopyo, new target system Bars, new weapon systems, automatic delivery systems and self-protection. The first flight of the prototype took place in 2008.
The modernized Su-25UBM is considered equivalent to Su-25SM.
Production will begin in mid 2012 (according to the timetable of the Armed Forces 2012 to 2020), and is expected to last until 2020.
