Shaanxi KJ-200 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AWE&C), visually similar to the Swedish Ericsson Erieyer, system AESA (Active electronically scanned array) with four Zhuzhou (SMPMC) Wojiang-6C turboprop engines with a power of 5.100 ehp. Created on the basis of the Y-8F200 turboprop (An-12) in 2000.

The first flight of the prototype was performed on November 8, 2001.

The second prototype KJ-200 (based on the Y-8F-600) made its maiden flight in January 2005. During test flights in 2006 (June), a disaster occurred. For solving technical problems and aircraft flight safety, asked for help from the Ukrainian specialists of the Design Bureau I. Antonov.

After a thorough examination of the problems, it was decided to replace the anti-icing system, the equipment for rapid notification of emergency situations to the crew of the aircraft, which led to an increase in the reliability of the aircraft.
