The multi-position radar system forms a radar fence of an overall extension of up to 500 km and detects any airborne objects.

 

CAPABILITIES

automatic detection and measurement of coordinates and trajectory parameters of airborne targets including small-sized low-flying aircraft, cruise missiles and Stealth          targets;
target class recognition;
radar data output to air defence operations centres for enhanced readiness of the forces and facilities.

The Barrier-E multiple-link radar system extends the radar field of an air defence complex to low and very low altitudes by building up 'radarfences'.

THE FORWARD-SCATTERING RADAR METHOD OFFERS A NUMBER OF ADVANTAGES

target 'visibility' increases by a factor of 10*3-10*4 as compared with conventional radars;
detection performance is not degraded by antiradar coating on the target;
- detection of targets that are not easily if at all detectable by conventional radars, such as:

Light aircraft and hang gliders; / cruise missiles;stealth aircraft;
Remotely controlled air vehicles; / low-altitude fighters;

- low radiated power;
- high detection probability for small targets; 
- low false alarm rate;
