Mi-8MTV-2 or 3- these are latest versions of Mi-8 for military use, personnel transport, MEDEVAC (hospital), SAR. Armament is divided into internally and externally suspended. The weapons control system consists of PUS-36-71.
The year 2000 witnessed the launching of an upgrade programme for the Mi-8MTV operated by the Russian Army Aviation. The machines are to be uprated through making them night-capable (the Mi-8MTKO variant featuring new avionics).
