In the year 2000, upgrade of the Mi-24P was launched to enable them fly combat operation round the clock (the Mi-24VK version, etc.).
The Mi-24P attack/transport helicopter is designed for engagement of armored vehicles, armed support of land forces, troops and evacuation of casualties. It can also transport cargo both in the cargo cabin and an external sling.
